There is something magical about flying halfway around the world for this one Moment.
When Mel and Jan contacted me and said: "We're getting married in Las Vegas - and the whole thing would only be perfect for us if you came along!", I was immediately thrilled. This invitation was the prelude to a week full of unforgettable experiences, unique moments and a wedding that became something very special for all of us.
Mel and Jan's wedding, which I had the pleasure of attending, was a truly magical event. There was already a special excitement in the air early in the morning. The preparations began: getting dressed, the lovely details and the first emotional moments that heralded the day. The anticipation could be felt in every smile, every look and every little gesture - a tension that made the day special right from the start.
Once we arrived in the City of Lights, we immersed ourselves in the fascinating atmosphere of Las Vegas. From the dazzling casinos and iconic hotels to the stunning desert landscape, the city provided the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories. We experienced so much together that week: Walks on the Las Vegas Strip, impromptu photo shoots against stunning backdrops and relaxed moments away from the hustle and bustle where we simply enjoyed the adventure.
The big day itself exceeded all expectations. The wedding ceremony in a charming little chapel was full of love, joy and pure emotion. After the emotional ceremony, it was on to a photo shoot at some of the city's most iconic locations: the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, the Las Vegas Strip and the mesmerizing desert landscape. Every moment, every look and every laugh was captured - memories that will preserve the magic of this day forever.
But the week wasn't just about the wedding. We discovered the impressive nature around Las Vegas, enjoyed culinary highlights and let ourselves drift through the lively streets. It was more than just a photo shoot - it was a trip full of unforgettable moments that brought us all closer together.
We still have a valuable and warm friendship to this day. This week has not only shown me how special it is to capture such great life moments, but also how much more there is behind them: real connections, great emotions and stories that last. It was an honor to accompany Mel and Jan on this unique adventure and capture their most beautiful memories for eternity. ❤️
Incidentally, Jan has since become one of my closest confidants - someone I can always count on. It means so much to me that he will be by my side in 2025, not only as a friend, but also as my best man at my own wedding. This connection is something very special and shows how valuable the genuine friendships that arise from such moments are. ❤️
Las Vegas and the Apostille:
Getting married in Las Vegas not only sounds exciting, it is also uncomplicated. Marriage in the wedding capital of the world is official and legally recognized. However, in order for your marriage in Las Vegas to be recognized in Germany, you will need an apostille.
The apostille is an international notarization that confirms that your marriage certificate is authentic. You can apply for this at the County Clerk's Office after the wedding ceremony in Las Vegas. Without this apostille, the marriage will not automatically be legally recognized in Germany.
A little tip: It's best to find out about the exact steps before the wedding so that you don't have any nasty surprises on your return. Then nothing will stand in the way of your new life together! ❤️
"Michael was simply the perfect companion for us! When he charmingly dispersed the crowd in front of the famous Las Vegas Sign with a loud saying, it was clear to us that he was just right for the moment! His charisma, his almost 2 meter height and his imposing flash made everyone think there was a big advertising shoot going on - but it was just us Germans who wanted to take an epic picture. It was simply awesome that he was there!"
Jan Leonhardt.
