About My Work

Wedding Photographer in Römerberg – Serving Speyer, the Palatinate, and the Rhine-Neckar Region

Above, you can see my Night portraits – the photos that are taken when the party has been in full swing for a while and we step outside for a few minutes. You'll find a cross-section of all the areas in the Portfolio.

I'm Michael, a photographer from Römerberg near Speyer. My main job is advertising photography—I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, but I give each one my full attention. You can read below what that means for your big day.

How I Take Photos

For most of the day, I just observe. I’m already standing where something is about to happen because I’ve already seen where the light is and which door the bride will walk through. Great candid shots aren’t the result of better technology, but of quicker perception.

There's only one time a day when I do the opposite: when Couples Photo Shoot. A good half hour just for the two of you—no stock poses, just a few directions and plenty of patience.

What I Offer

The classic option is the full-day Wedding Photography From getting ready to the celebration. In addition, there is civil, free and Church weddings, the After-Wedding Photo Shoot and—as my trademark— Night portraits.

After the wedding, if you'd like, I'll create a Wedding Album. In my experience, that's the only thing that will still be within reach on the shelf twenty years from now.

Where I'm traveling

From Römerberg, I can get anywhere quickly: Speyer, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Hockenheim, Germersheim and the Schwetzingen Palace Gardens.

I've listed the places that are especially worth visiting in my Favorite Locations in the Palatinate and the Rhine-Neckar Region collected—from wineries to barns in Rehbach Estate.

From the First Contact to the Photos

You send me your date, and we’ll get to know each other—via video or over coffee. If it works for both of us, we’ll put the most important details in writing, and the appointment is yours. You can read about how I handle this at Contract with the Wedding Photographer.

After the wedding, I carefully curate the photos and edit each one individually by hand. You'll receive a full-resolution online gallery. For more details, see RAW, Processing, and Delivery Time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding photographer cost with you?

That depends on the duration, the day of the week, and a few other factors—I’ve provided an honest breakdown with rough estimates on a separate page, rather than just throwing out a number here. I’ll give you a specific quote as soon as I know your schedule.

How far in advance should we contact you?

For Saturdays between May and September, a wait of twelve to eighteen months is realistic. On Fridays and during the off-season, there’s much more availability—often even on short notice. Just send us a request with your date and location, and you’ll get a clear answer right away.

Which region are you traveling through?

I live in Römerberg, near Speyer. From there, I travel throughout the Rhine-Neckar region and the Palatinate—Speyer, Heidelberg, Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Hockenheim, Germersheim, and Schwetzingen. I’m happy to drive other routes as well—just let me know.

How long does it take to take a night portrait?

Fifteen to thirty minutes, no more. You’ll step out of the party for a moment while I set up the lighting, and then you’ll be back with your guests. It’s the shortest part of the day and often yields the photos that end up displayed everywhere later on.

When will we get our photos?

I usually send a small preview within a few days. Depending on the season, the complete gallery follows in four to eight weeks, in full resolution and available for download. I will confirm a binding deadline in writing.

Can we get to know each other beforehand?

Absolutely, and I actually insist on it. A video call or a coffee is enough to see if we’re a good fit. On your wedding day, I’ll be spending more time with you than most of your guests—so we need to click.
